Rock Lodge
We have two lodges here at Ulusaba. One is perched high on the summit of a koppie (rocky hill) and we call it Rock Lodge. It is here where you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, and the beauty of the lowveld (bushy grassland plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountain range far in the distance.

Rock Lodge is the epitome of luxury safari accommodation in South Africa. As Ulusaba is a Private Game Reserve the service, facilities and suites are all excellent.
Choosing Rock Lodge as your base during your safari in South Africa will not only mean you'll be receiving first class treatment but you will also be entitled to access to the many facilities and activities offered by the safari lodge. When you're not being kept busy by a walking safari or a game drive you could indulge in an aroma therapy beauty treatment or thrash it out in the fully equipped gymnasium.

Accommodation comprises of our two new Makwela Suites, four Rock Cliff Rooms, and a stunning stand alone, split level Master Suite, which is sure to bring out the romantic in you. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for those wishing to bring little cubs of their own!

Luxurious Makwela Suites
- Luxurious bedroom with Double-King size beds cocooned by romantic Balinese mosquito net.
- The en-suite includes free standing bath, his & hers basins, large shower with over-sized shower head.
- An outdoor shower with breathtaking views of the bushveld.
- A large comfortable lounge which opens out onto a spacious deck and private infinity plunge pool, overlooking the splendour of the African Savannah 800 feet below.

The deck has two pool loungers and chairs with a large umbrella. - Sunscreen and tanning lotions are provided.
- A study/library room with complimentary Internet access & luxurious foldout sleeper couch, which could sleep two children up to the age of 12 comfortably.
- Each suite has a CD player with surround sound and a selection of the latest CDs.
- The complimentary in-room bar consists of soft drinks, juices, mixers, and large bottles of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Absolute Vodka, Johnnie Walker Whiskey, Hennessey Cognac and South Africa's very own Amarula, along with very scrumptious munchies and home made decadence.
- Also a selection of the finest South African wines and, of course a bottle of fine Champagne.
- The Filter Coffee, Espresso and Tea Making Facilities are charming and include a surprising selection of Teas.
- Each suite has a pair of binoculars and bird and mammal books are provided.
- In-room dining will be a unique dining experience when required, complete with your own personal butler.

Accommodation, all meals, all beverages, both alcoholic and other, including a top quality wine list and fine Champagnes. Two game viewing drives per day, daily walking safari accompanied by field guide and tracker. Fully equipped gymnasium, situated at Rock Lodge, fresh water pool, tennis courts - rackets and balls supplied. DVD, video, music and book libraries. Laundry service (no dry cleaning available), business facilities (details available on request), use of binoculars. Children’s books and games are available at Rock Lodge and Tourism levy.
Rates Exclude:
Transfers to and from Ulusaba by road or air.
Car hire, telephone, fax and e-mail facilities. Airport taxes. Beauty treatments at the Aroma Boma Virgin Touch salon – see separate tariff.
Extra information
Children's Policy
Children must be accompanied by their parents at all times.
Children aged 5 and under will not be permitted on game viewing activities.
Children under 12 will not be allowed on bush walks.
Alternative baby-sitting facilities can be arranged by the lodge.
Children aged 5 and under will be accommodated on a complimentary basis.
Children aged 6 - 11 years will be charged at 50% of the adult rate (per person per night). These rates apply only where children are sharing accommodation.
Children aged 12 years and above will be charged at full rate at both lodges.
