Most popular camps in Addo Elephant National Park
Addo Elephant National Park is recessed into the heavy bushveld of the Eastern Cape's Sundays River region. This 164 000 hectare game reserve includes five of South Africa's seven major vegetation zones, subsequently making it possibly the world's only park to call itself home to the "Big 7" - elephant, rhinoceros, lion, buffalo, leopard, whale and great white shark, all in their natural habitats. Founded in 1931 to provide a sanctuary for dwindling elephant population in the area, the park is currently home to more than 450 elephants, as well as a host of other mammals.
