Always great!

"Addo Rest Camp is always improving and we love to go there. Only one draw back: the ablution facility! Please Addo, make it bigger and better, like the rest of the camp!"

Addo FUN

"I was alone with my daughter, Jordin, 9 years old. We did a road trip of 11 days and 2033kms. Of all the places we stayed - Addo came out tops for accommodation, friendliness and value for money. The Cango Cave adventure tour came a close second for Jordin in excitement level. Thank you to all the staff, both Addo and the booking assistance. We will be back!"

Addo - Wonderful once again. !!!!

"We always enjoy our visits to the "wild". All the personnel are very friendly. We love the newly added "Jack's Picnic Site". Must comment on the extremely neat and tidy restrooms at Jack's Picnic site - what a pleasure to stop there. We recommend that guests enter at the gate near the N2 at Colchester - this way you can drive through the park on your way to the main camp - and spot the animals. (That we did not do.) Went that way when we left. Once again we had no luck in seeing the lions...ugh! But did see a lot of other animals. Well worth it!"

Addo Restcamp

"A pleasant stay with friendly staff. I also thought the restaurant had reasonable "family" prices & meals to offer. Our accommodation was neat & clean. The water hole at the camp was devoid of game the 2 days we were there - but we did see plenty in the park."

Addo Restcamp

"Very good experience; excellent night drive with a very personable guide, Mfuni (spelling?). Accommodation good esp with overlooking waterhole. I did comment when we left that the heating did not work in the cottage and that there was an unpleasant smell when the cottage is shut up."

Addo Restcamp

"We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was nice, despite a few minor problems that you could maybe rectify for future residents : the shower leaks and wets the whole bathroom floor. The large stove plate did not work. The floor under the divan bed was wet (this was after heavy rain)
These were minor problems and altogether we were very happy!
We enjoyed the game viewing as always and saw lions for the first time in Addo Park. The staff was helpful and polite.
Thanks for a great experience!"

Restaurant

"Hi our stay at Addo was lovely except the restaurant went there for dinner although staff was friendly and tended to our needs the quality of food was not up to standard. My worry is all the international people visiting Addo and what must they think. We ordered steak rolls and it was really horrible the meat was tough and soapy and at 68 rand not good. I suggest you look into your kitchen staff and get the standard of food jacked up. There was also no management on duty."

Addo is Awesome

"Hi
Just to let you know we had the one of the best getaways to Addo. The weather was freezing, the staff were warm....The animals didn't always come out to play, but we were lucky enough to see 3 lioness and a male eating their kill. The elephants are just incredible. Our kids enjoyed their stay, Domkrag is beautifully appointed and the water hole saw lots of animals coming through. The info centre is very informative and te Amarula at the shop is not too pricey!
We would go back anytine(we live in KZN and the drive was certainly worth it).

Thanks for the efficient bookings, we used our wild card too and had the best time.

Cheers
Fred and Rehna Wollentine"

Addo Restcamp

"We stayed in the chalets in the main rest camp.we were their 4 years ago also in the winter, and were very diappointed. We thought that we would give it another try, and were extremely disappointed. The furnishings are very tired looking. There was not one carpet or rug on the very cold floors. Especially on the sides of the beds. Our heater in our chalet was not working. luckily we had brought our own. The place is sorely in need of maintenance. The mat outside our door looked like a lion had eaten half of it. I am emabarrassed for tourists to see what is very over priced accomadation."

Addo experience

"Thank you for assisting us with our booking. I just thought that i did communicate that it is only my husband & myself, yet we were booked into a unit with a sleeper couch. I also asked for a unit with TV, yet we got a unit without in the "game viewing" area, but we had to stand on the wall of the stoep to see the game viewing area for which we paid R900 per night - would've appreciated the TV for relaxing during cold nights"

"The only issue I had at all was the very hard bed - but I do have back problems. Most people wouldn't have minded.
Otherwise a lovely weekend"

"Forest huts not comfortable for older folk. Some utensils need replacing - one pot with no lid handle. Bathroom curtain in tatters. Shower mat badly broken and a hazard for older folk."

Hiking

"Whilst camping at Addo is very enjoyable , it is nice to be able to stretch your legs with a nice walk, most of the foreign visitors enjoy walking, you have a wonderful walk at Addo Zurberg, but very little information is offered at the camp about this hiking facility. People will stay on an extra day to include it in their visit."
