The main game area of the Park,
Addo Elephant National Park
hosts the sought after
Big Five
, as well as red hartebeest, eland, kudu, common duiker and grysbok, spotted hyena and Burchell’s zebra, warthog, vervet monkey, bushpig and various other small mammals. This area of the park is also home to around 250 species of bird.
Covered with Albany Thicket, patches of this grassland also show the area's history as a farmland before it was incorportated into the park.
