The winter temperatures in Golden Gate (including
Basotho Cultural Village) have been known to dip to between -9 and -15 degrees celcius. As a result, snow is a regular occurrence in the park.
Day visitors coming in off the public road running through the grounds are welcome to take a drive around the park itself. Vehicle filling stations are available along the periphery of the park, and all legitimate petrol/fuel/garage/credit/debit cards or cash are accepted as payment.
Pets are not allowed. Firearms are required to be declared and sealed on arrival, the seal broken at the reception office upon departure. Vehicle repair, medical, post office and police services at Clarens or Bethlehem.
