Travel routes and times from central Gauteng are listed below. Travel by road requires entry through one of Kruger National Park's gates.
By Road - Phalaborwa Gate: • Take the N1 toll-road to Polokwane (Pietersburg)
• 40 km before Polokwane turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen
• After Tzaneen, head towards Phalaborwa and the gate. Allow between 6 to 7 hours for the trip to the gate.

Bateleur Bushveld Camp is 140 km away from the gate. Allow about 4 hours for the drive to the bush camp; however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!

Recommended game drives from this camp:1. Take the
S52 north from Bateleur, passing the Tshanga lookout point to the right. Keep right at the fork, passing the bridge, and pass the Shingwidzi River to your left, until you reach the Red Rocks at the second bridge over the Shingwidzi.
2. Alternatively, take the
S52 north from Bateleur and take the bridge to your left, over the Shingwidzi River. From here, you can continue along the
S52, with the Shingwidzi to your right, passing the Joao waterhole, until you reach the
H1-6, near Shingwedzi Restcamp.
