In a national park the size of the Kruger Park, where so many options for activities, camping and touring are available, a guest could be understood for searching out a smaller camp with a more immediate immersion into the surrounding area. Bateleur Bush Camp, located roughly 40 km South West of Shingwedzi on the Mashokwe Spruit, is the oldest and smallest of the Kruger's bush camps, and provides guests with an intimate experience of the northern Mopane/Woodland savannah, as well as outstanding game viewing.

We received a very friendly welcome from Paul the manager at Bateleur who placed us in Bungalow NO. 1 - close to the bird hide and water hole. The accommodation was basic but we had air con which was great as it was hot. The kitchen area was well-equipped and we had a very pleasant stay. The bird life was spectacular.
