Berg-en-Dal Restcamp
"Very well organised. Shop at camp well stocked. Had Barack under the stars in the rain but did not dampen our enthusiasm. Great start to 3 brilliant nights in Kruger."

Excellent Weekend
"We had an amazing weekend and Berg-en-dal camp was lovely. We went on 3 game drives with Claire and it was amazing she made it so worth while. Would recommend the early and sunrise safari to all."

Upgrade Ablusion Facilities!
"I believe the ablusion facilities can be modernised. Pls view Mapumalanga's International Airport's restrooms (next to the Wimpy). It would also be nice if each stand's parameters can be marked clearly. Some people park a car, caravan, tent, canopy, etc, etc - and take up two sites."

Comfortable, neat accommodation
"We had a great few days in the Kruger Park. The location of the Berg-en-Dal rest camp is really convenient when travelling from Johannesburg and we saw 90% of the animals within about 20km from the camp. The chalet is a bit older (not luxurious), but was well equipped, neat and very comfortable. The one porch light was not working, but after phoning reception the handyman was at our chalet within minutes to fix it!"

Berg-en-Dal Restcamp
"Cottage was clean and neat. Staff are well informed, courteous and helpful. Guides on walk are well informed and ensure that people understand what is required of them to minimise risk. Walk in bush a definite highlight."

Amazing Trip
"We had an incredible time at Berg en Dal. We were very fortunate to see the whole big 5. Very little antelope! Did a night drive which I can recommend, but take an external flash for your camera."

Loved Berg-en-dal
"We loved Berg-en-dal! Our bungalow was great! It was our first night in Kruger and we saw a lot of animals on the way. I only wish it were a little more centrally located and we would have stayed there longer!
Found the staff to be friendly and helpful."

Amazing!
"Beautiful rest camp, nice place to see the big five, zebras and giraffes. In fact, we saw a lion family on the road and a leopard beside the car! It was amazing..."

No Bush Walk for us
"We were a multinational party of seven people from the USA, the UK and SA. Visiting the KNP is, as always, an exceptional experience, the weather, except for one violent evening storm whilst on a night drive, was good, the accommodation was adequate and the Park was teeming with game in the south.
The experience was marred only by being refused permission to go on a bush walk, due to our age. We are in our 60's. Despite being allowed before (about two years ago - when I was over 60).
We all regarded this as age discrimination, the bush walks are gentle strolls through flat terrain at a leisurely pace. We are all healthy, and frequent and experienced walkers through far rougher terrain and more difficult conditions.
The receptionist did make mention of possible doctor's certificate certifying that we are fit, which obviously (although one of our party is a doctor), it was too late to do at that stage, although may have been possible had we known of this before we arrived.
I think some further thought on the matter of a global age exclusion would be sensible."

Berg-en-Dal Restcamp
"The cottage is very dark, there were no drying cloth in the kitchen, outside patio is lovely although the outside table and chairs could do with a bit of paint. There was very few game."

Southern area of KNP
"Generally, a thoroughly enjoyable trip, helped by courteous, welcoming staff. The bush is thick due to the rains, but very attractive.
The only negative was the feeling that the Game Drive Vehicle drivers from outside the Park are now getting out of hand. They obviously communicate among each other and tear off to any Big 5 sighting, breaking the speed limit, dominating the sighting as if the normal visitors are irrelevant. It is time SANParks introduced a system whereby the public are invited to report these cowboys"

Excellent stay.
"Compared to Skukuza this was a shining example of how a well maintained camp should be run. No wonder they have won best camp several times."

Berg-en-Dal Restcamp
"Staff very friendly and welcoming. Size and facilities inside of bungalow exceeded expectations after coming from Skukuza. Will stay again if I ever visit Kruger. Disappointed though at the fact that I had to conservation fee again after already paying at Skukuza. Was of the belief that it was a one off payment upon entering Kruger."

Restaurants
"Hello. We had a great stay at Berg en Dal. The only problem is your Restaurants. They are useless and the service is poor. We had our Wedding anniversary on Sunday (17/2/2013) and they could not cater for that. We had to go to Malelane."

Elephants for Africa
"Kruger National Park is fantastic for the amount of game, the roads, the excellent game drives on offer. We saw so many elephant, and I know that has its problems, but they are beautiful. There are two negatives. The food on offer is poor quality and the same menu on offer in the whole region is ridiculous. The other negative is the very off-hand manner in which visitors are received at the entry gates, when paying the exorbitant conservation fee. The reception staff, in particular the females, really need to work on their service skills. Most of the staff in the shops and restaurants were helpful and the guides on the game drives were wonderful. The park has amazing potential to boost the economy through overseas tourists. Please don't let poor attitudes and over-commercialization spoil the experience."

Disappointing
"The camp needs a revamp and whilst we asked for a perimeter bungalow, we did not get. The staff are not friendly and the overall experience was a let down compared to Lower Sabie."

Best!
"The morning walk out of Bergendal was exceptional. Our rangers went above and beyond and provided an unforgettable experience. (Our two rangers at Bergendal, Willie and Masotcha deserve to be recognized especially)"
