Comfortable stay

"Golden Gate National Park was awesome. The staff there are really proud of their park and do their best to make you feel accommodated and at home. It is situated in a magnificent area, and is just a short drive from the very cultural small town of Clarens which makes for great day-time excursions.

The Brandwag chalets were comfortable and came complete with DSTV and a fully equipped kitchen. Simple units done in the traditional old Afrikaans-style in the 80s I would imagine. The views of the mountain over the road were stunning."

"It's a pity that we were not informed that the Hotel and Restaurant were under construction, and hence not accessible. We were planned on dining at the restaurant!"

"We did the 4 hour walk opposite the GR camp site and it was well sign posted with stunning views and we saw a variety of animals. We did the one hour one behind the hotel, which was very interesting as there are few caves to enter and ladders to climb. More should be mentioned of these items in the handout given at the campsite. Excellent walking which is why we visited."
