Excellent stay in Golden Gate
"We have been camping for about 3 years and this is the most beautiful place I have ever camped. The mountains, sunset, sunrise and general nature is unbelievable! The camp was clean and well managed. We were there for a long weekend, but another 3 days would have been welcome. It is close to Clarens and Fouriesburg, which in itself are also unique experiences."

Golden Gate Free State
"Four of us stayed in a cottage and it was very clean and comfortable.
We enjoyed the walks in the park.

Great stay
"We had a great time at the Glen Reenen Rest Camp. The facilities were excellent, very clean. The park looked amazing. The only thing that was not ideal was that you could hear the traffic from the camp site. Otherwise, we had a great time. Thank you!!"

Fresh air and natural bliss
"Only 3.5 hours from home what a place,fresh air and open nature. Had a stunning rest and will return as soon as possible. A sundays road bikers heaven. They were considerate and not to noisy, a pleasure to see around.

"We camped at Glen Reenen and it was raining a lot, so it was very muddy, but it was very beautiful.
The ablution blocks was really neat and clean and we enjoyed camping there. Thank you."

Good camping stop over
"We stopped over in Golden Gate on our trip in the Freestate - camped very comfortably next to the river, and enjoyed a early morning walk in the hills. A great camp spot, and great walking routes."

Lovely Place
"We were hoping to venture out on one of the hiking trails offered, but did not manage to.
The kids however did and thoroughly enjoyed the openness with amazing rock formations.
A small, quiet, clean camp with beautiful scenery and enough shade.
The ablutions and kitchen were impeccably clean at all times.
The ground staff are friendly and especially the lady in Reception who is well-informed and willing to help.
We will definitely be back in the future."

Camp review
"The hotwater at the ablution facilities are the hottest we have experienced in any camp in SA.
The ablution was kept spotlessly clean.
The receptionist could aquire a bit of friendlism and smile now and then. The park has tarred road and although there were some veldfires the scenes are still breathtaking.
We enjoyed our stay and would like to visit again."

We had such an amazing experience at Glen Reenen!The staff were so helpful and welcoming.
We were only there for a short time unfortunately, but we made sure to take a walk along the trails at Glen Reenen...
This was definitely the highlight of our trip! An absolute must-see when visiting!
Other than that, our Longdawel was very cozy and well cared for. It had everything that we needed. The Camp was spotless and immaculately maintained!
Overall I had a fantastic stay at Glen Reenen and will be sure to return as soon as possible!"

Great stay
"it was so great to just relax and have all the neccesities at hand after a long day on the road...traving on motorbikes, you dont have space to pack...so it was just such a hassle free pleasure!! Great that the shop was still open until 6h...made a difference! thanks"

The family cottage was homely furnished but the kitchen could do with a few large bowls/salad bowls.

A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY
"We camped at the Glen Reenen Rest Camp and found the facilities there above average. Ablution blocks were very clean as well as the wash up area which included two two plate cookers which are not normally found in camp sites. We felt very safe as the camp site was patrolled by a security guard at night. The walks were well marked and very interesting as well. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. We had a very relaxing holiday and would definately recommend the place to other campers."

Camp sites
"Our stay at Glen Reenen Rest camp site was really great, the ablutions were clean and camp site was lovely and clean as well. However it would be great if the sites were demarcated and each one had a number with its own electrical power point so that you knew were your site was as some campers tend to take up more than one site. Other than that we had a wonderful stay at Glen Reenen Rest camp and will be back again. Keep up the good work."
