Kalahari Tented Restcamp - Important Info & Warnings
Shops are available in the
Mata Mata,
Nossob and
Twee Rivieren camps, all selling basic commodities. Electricity to the huts is solar powered or gas in nature.
Twee Rivieren is the only shop which accepts credit or debit cards. Vehicle filling stations are available along the periphery of the park, as well as at the main rest camps in Kruger and Kgalagadi. As per legislation, these stations will accept legitimate petrol/fuel/garage/credit/debit cards, as well as cash as payment for fuel purchases.
Roads in Kgalagadi park are not sedan friendly. Guests must take their own wood and drinking water, the closest shop to
Kalahari Tent Camp being three kilometers away at Mata Mata camp.
Guests exiting the park at gates other than the point of entry should note that immigration controls must be carried out at Twee Rivieren / Two Rivers. A two day stay in the park is compulsory.
Pets are not allowed in a National Park or its associated camp sites, and firearms must be declared at the gate where they will be sealed. Seals will be broken upon departure. An emergency supply of ten litres of water should be kept in your vehicle.
This is a low risk malaria area. Guests should consult their doctors or chemists and arrange for the proper medication with this in mind.
