Green, Wet, Lovely Kruger!
"Special thanks to Bassie Marivate and her team at Letaba Camp for assisting us with our booking and making our stay so exceptional! Also to the ranger at Timbavati picnic spot who assisted me and two small children when we had a flat tyre...! We enjoyed the wonderful weather, rare sightings of rhino (caused the kids to tear up) and also the pool.... What made it special was also the tents and that they were near the fence.... The staff in the tent area also gets commendation on friendliness and helpfulness!!! Thanks Kruger for a wonderful stay!!"

"Most camps were above average, but I have to mention that three of the camps we were not impressed with at all. At Lower Sabie, the staff comes strolling through chatting at the top of their voices scratching through the bins for finds? Most campers talk softly and keep the whole camp quiet but not the staff. Is there no way that they can walk around. And this finding food etc in the bins is just too much. At both Letaba and Shingwedizi the we could her the staff village playing loud music, dogs barking it really just spoils the whole experience. Thought domestic animals were not allowed in the park? All the other camps did not have these problems. Are these just badly management camps?"

"Overhaul stay is the park was good. Letaba camp was good.
The restaurant at Satara was shocking poor. We had to place our own order, serves was poor ( no serves), we had to wait over a hour for our order and then it was still wrong and poor. Will not recommend the restaurant to anybody."

"We were very pleased with the variety and quantity of animals seen. It was certainly the best of our 3 trips to Kruger. However, the food at the restaurant left something to be desired."

Unfriendly staff but great viewing
"I must say, we had a great time in all of the camps but certainly did not get a great welcome in this camp. Everything was basic and staff seemed to be unhappy"

Letaba Restcamp
"It was awesome to get back to the park after almost 5 years. The facilities at Letaba were great and always clean. We traveled extensively in our weeks stay going as far north as Shingwedzi and far south as Tshokwane. We saw plenty and were not disappointed. However on our exit of the Park we traveled south with the intention of going out at Malelane, this was cut short and we exited Kruger Gate due to the increase of vehicles and seeing viewers exit their vehicle to urinate on the side of the road clearly due to excessive alchol intake. We found this unacceptable behaviour close to Skukuza, and realised commercialisation is going to become a danger to the diversity of the park. The little things have to be addressed sternly. We did repremand the above law breakers only to be shrugged off."

"Good camp: power can be a problem sometimes: 10A supplies are under-rated."

Letaba Restcamp
"Poorly equipped bungalow. No toaster or chopping board or serving bowls. No teapot or any dishcloths or dish soap. The standard of equipment and what they supply varied from camp to camp. This makes it difficult to know what to take and irritating when the camp supplies bits and pieces.
Restaurant and shop good."

Wonderful stay at Letaba!
"My brother and I had a fantastic stay in Letaba. It was quiet and relaxing, everything a stay in the bush should be. We would definitely come again!"

Staff Unfriendly
"I am a very proud South African. Tourism is the hard of RSA. The people working in the park 90%(not the younger
ones) would never greet you or smile or be helpful. You can say its there culture but they are working in the window of south Africa. Please teach them that skill. I visit KZN parks a lot. The people there are so helpful and friendly. We been to the restaurant at elephant camp. Begging for service. The only time they smile is when you get your bill. In the office at Letaba there was one man that was very helpful and friendly. At the shop the young girl is an example for everyone else."

Keep It Wild
"The accommodation and facilities in the camps are good and the staff are polite and helpful. Most importantly, the parks (i.e. for the animals)appear to be in very good health as human interference is still very limited AND IT SHOULD STAY THIS WAY TO PRESERVE THIS VERY SPECIAL RESOURCE. Many thanks, from a very proud 65 year old South African who thinks you guys are doing a great job. Keep it up."

Camping at Letaba
"We found Letaba to be the most disappointing of the four camps we stayed at. The overall maintenance and care in the camp is very much below standard. The gardens are neglected and sorely in need of some attention. The camping area needs cleaning up, it is full of thorns and dead vegetation and weeds. The braais are few and far between and mostly unserviceable, i.e. rusted through. The swimming pool water was green and the area around the pool was shockingly neglected. The grass has not been cut for some time and the whole area is full of weeds and thorns. The umbrella and recliners are damaged. We thought that this area of the camp - sorely needed by visitors in the heat wave! - was disgraceful. Clearly there is a management problem at Letaba!"

Renovations
"Me an my husband enjoyed the Park very much, Letaba is a lovely camp site, but I was a bit disappointed, nobody warned or informed me that renovations was being done to one of the ablution blocks, the only place to put up camp was near the renovations, it was noisy and far from the other ablutions, I would definitely visit the park again but not Letaba."

The best can be spoiled
"A pleasant surprise. Kruger is now well run. The camps are neat, clean and a pleasure to be in. The rondavels are well appointed and comfortable (including the mattresses). Well done Parks Board.
The only downside was the restaurant in Letaba, which was at best pathetic and dirty.
The food was so bad that guests were leaving in disgust without finishing their meals. We were served up rancid and bad lamb chops obvious by the smell alone without needing to taste and then vomit on the table.
The manager who was more interested in his friends, one of which was sprawled across the table, deigned to enquire as to the problem and was not at all put out by bad food being served apart from the excuse of needing to defrost in the morning and the chops turning off during the day. He obviously has never heard of a refrigerator.
Apart from this, .... again Well Done SA Parks Board, you can be JUSTIFIABLY PROUD.

Letaba
"Good day,
Letaba was fantastic and the service received from Reservations by the lady named “Pinky” was very good. The pool was a big welcome this time of year. The accommodation was perfect with air conditioning and fans. One comment, try and keep the fridge away from direct sunlight, as this does effect the temperature.
Thanks
Herman"

The Kalp's stay in Kruger national park.
"In all 3 restcamps my wife and I enjoy staying. The toilet facilities was above what we expected. Congratulations to all the workers for keeping our park in such a great condition, it is a well picture to our foreign visitors going back to their origin with good testomonies. Thanks again for making our stay such a big pleasure."
