Travel routes and times from central Gauteng are listed below. Travel by road requires entry through one of Kruger National Park's gates.
By Air:The closest airport to
Lower Sabie is Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) that is situated between Nelspruit and White River. KMIA is situated approximately 25km from Nelspruit and about 120km from Crocodile Bridge Gate. There are daily scheduled flights between KMIA and OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, with less frequent flights from Cape Town and Durban International Airports respectively.
By Road - Crocodile Bridge Gate:• Take the N4 to Nelspruit and head through Nelspruit to Malelane and on to Komatipoort (about 110km).
• Then turn left onto the R571 just after Komatipoort and head on to the gate. Allow between 5 to 6 hours for the trip to the gate.
• Lower Sabie camp is 34km away from the gate. Allow about 2 hours for the drive to the camp, however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!

Recommended game drives from this camp:1. Travelling north on the
H4-1, from Lower Sabie to
Skukuza, take the
S79 loop for a view of the Nwatimhiri Causeway. Continue on the
H4-1 taking the
H12 (right) over the Sabie River. Turn left onto the
H1-2 at the T-junction and follow the road up to the right-hand exit for the
S83 (Marula Loop). Back on the
H1-2, the road leads past
Tinga Legends Lodge and into Skukuza.
2. Take the
H4-2 south from Lower Sabie, turning left onto the
S28 which takes you to the Nthahdanyathi Hide, overlooking the Nlanganzwani dam. return along the
S137, passing the Duke Waterhole.
