Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp

Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp is designed to reflect Hemingways’ Africa, this 12 tented camp is nestled in a Tamboti grove overlooking a dry river bed. The reception areas comprise a large sitting area, indoor and outdoor areas, bar and climate controlled wine cellar.

Game visiting the nearby watering hole can be seen from the swimming pool deck adjoining the reception areas. The tents are comfortably furnished with king-sized beds and soft leather couches. Each tent leads onto its own bathroom with concrete bath, double shower and separate toilet.

Honeyguide Khoka Moya

Honeyguide Khoka Moya comprises 12 large tents furnished in a contemporary yet comfortable style. Each tent is en-suite with double shower and separate toilet. A private outdoor seating area in front of each tent allows guests to relax and take in sights and sounds of the bush.

The reception areas reflect the contemporary design of architect Enrico Daffonchio and are built of steel, corrugated iron and recycled timber. The large lounge and dining areas of the camp overlook manicured green lawns leading to the swimming pool.

Activities

Guests awake to the sound of beating drums and tea or coffee is served in the tents.

Safaris in open game drive vehicles, led by experienced and qualified guides and trackers, are conducted in the early mornings and late afternoon / evenings.

A foot safari is undertaken after breakfast, with emphasis on the abundant bird, insect and plant life surrounding the camps.

Guests may also choose to relax by the pool or browse through the small library at each camp.

Location

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps are situated in the Manyeleti Game Reserve on the Limpopo Province. You will arrive at Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp. Guests going to Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp will park their vehicles at Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp, and then be taken to Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp by Game viewing vehicles.

By car from Johannesburg or Pretoria

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps are approximately 5 to 5 ½ hours drive from Johannesburg.

From Johannesburg (R22), proceed towards Belfast. Exit the N4 at the Belfast intersection, enter the town And turn right at the second stop sign in the direction of Dullstroom (R540).

Continue to Lyndenburg via Dullstrrom. In Lyndenburg turn left and take the R36 to Orighstad. Continue in the direction of Hoedspruit via the Abel Erasmus Pass and the JG Strijdom Tunnel.

Shortly after crossing the Blyde River, turn right in the direction of Orpen/Swadini (R531). Approximately 10km further, do not take the right turn to Swadini but continue straight in the direction of Klaserie. Continue past Klaserie, and turn left at the Orpen signpost and continue until you see the Manyeleti Reserve sign (approximately 36km). Turn right to enter the reserve and follow the Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp signs.

By car from Nelspruit

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps are approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours drive from Nelspruit.

From Nelspruit (R537), proceed towards White River. And then continue towards Hazyview from Hazyview (R40) continue towards the Klaserie, past Bosbokrand and Acornhoek

DO NOT take the turn off to Manyeleti Game Reserve and Acornhoek

Just before you reach the Klaserie, there is a turn off to the right to 'Orpen Gate - Kruger National Park' Turn right at Orpen signpost and continue until you see the Manyeleti Reserve sign (approximately 36km). Turn right to enter the reserve and follow the Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp signs.

By car from Hoedspruit

Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps are approximately 40 minutes drive from Hoedspruit Airport.

From Hoedspruit Airport, travel South on the R527 towards the Klaserie Continue past Klaserie, and turn left at the Orpen signpost and continue until you see the Manyeleti Reserve sign (approximately 36km). Turn right to enter the reserve and follow the Honeyguide Tented Safari Camp signs.

Family Safaris

Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp offers an educational program for children of all ages aimed at catering for children. Parents wishing to visit a luxury private camp in the greater Kruger National Park area are able to have the peace of mind that their children are welcome and cared for.

The children's program is mainly safari-orientated, sharing the knowledge and wonders of Africa, and also includes an activity centre, supervised by the camp staff, offering a variety of activities such as beadwork, cookie making, drawing and reading. The centre is stocked with a DVD player and a variety of animal and nature related movies, toys as well as a small library aimed at a younger readership. Children are welcome to go on walks with their parents. We have also added a short (1 hour) drive for the children after breakfast where time will be spent looking at some of the small wonders of the bushveld.

The Khoka Moya swimming pool has a children's area and we can supply inflatable arm bands if required.

We appreciate that children often have different dietary requirements so we have introduced an optional menu as an alternative for children, with food such as pasta, fish fingers, hamburgers, hotdogs and ice-cream.

The large tents at Khoka Moya measure some 60 square meters and can comfortable house a family of four all under the protection of mosquito nets.

Our rate for children under the age of 12 years is 50% of the adult rate and is based on the child sharing a tent with the adult. There is no charge for children under the age of 3 years.

Located in the Manyeleti Game Reserve, lie Honeyguide’s two tented camps, Khoka Moya and Mantobeni. Manyeleti, meaning “Place of the Stars” borders Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand and Timbavati and is a true Big Five Reserve.
