Mopani Restcamp

(65 reviews)

The pervasive Mopani tree found in the Pioneer Dam area of Kruger National Park lends both its aesthetic and its name to this primary rest camp. Thatched buildings with rock faced walls blend seamlessly into the natural environment, materials used to construct these buildings including rough stone, wood and thatching-grass.

Huddled against and overlooking the banks of the dam, visitors can take advantage of the winter trend for park animals to move towards water sources as they migrate towards the dam's edge, providing excellent viewing opportunities.
