Mountain Zebra stay

"Wonderful two days spent in peaceful relaxing surroundings. Game drive very interesting and Richard very knowledgeable. Cottage in good condition with very minor maintenance needed."

"We had some problems with the ablution blocks in Mountain Zebra Park. Ladies side has 2 showers of which 1 was not working, just a tiny trickle of cold water came out of shower head. My husband complained that the urinals on the gents side and at the reception/restaurant stank badly. They also had problems with the electricity tripping at the ablution block, the first night we were there there were no lights at the bathrooms!
Staff at reception and restaurant very friendly."

Mountain Zebra Park

"Unfortunately we stayed over for one night only, but found all the facilities above average. Could not find fault with the camping site, ablutions and shop. Very sorry we could not stay another night or two as the animals in this park is a bit different to the others parks we have visited. Can definitely recommend this park to other visitors."

In need of freshing up

"The staff are very professional and helpful, and need to be commended. However, we stayed in unit 6. The unit was clean and well kept, however the unit is in need of being refurbished"

Mountain Zebra Park Dec 2011

"The park was great, just something small though. When we arrived at our chalet at 6pm, after travelling for 8 and a half hours, the chalet's electricity had not been switched on for us and so there has no hot water to bath or shower. A bit lousy after a full day of travelling!!"

Mountain Zebra October 2011

"Wonderful. Rooms adequate and clean. Guide for game drive and tour of bushman paintings was superb. Only small inconvenience was that our unit could have been serviced earlier (before 10am)."

Mountain Zebra National Park

"The gentleman at the reception on Saturday 29th October approx 11.30am was very pleasant and helpful. The woman who dealt with our check out on Sunday afternoon did not engage with us and I rate poorly in terms of customer service. I would like to see the park facilitate those who wish to leave early in the morning (05h00) as we had a 10hr drive ahead of us. Otherwise the Park is a credit to National Parks."

4x4 Surprise.

"Went on 4x4 trail called Umngeni thinking it was a grade 2 but it turned out to be grade 4!
All ended fine, really enjoyed it in our Fortuner. Had a good time. Accommodation and park very good standard."

Two nights in Mountain Zebra

"We really enjoyed the 2 nights we stayed with you. The cottage was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant and the service was very good. We saw a fair amount of game, the roads were good.
The swimming pools and picnic areas are well kept. I will definitely return."

Mountain Zebra

"This is the second time we have been there, the last being a number of years ago. We were pleasantly surprised to see just how many Zebra there were in the park. The roads are beautifully maintained and our experience was a good one, apart from the weather."

"It was really a great stay. We love this park. Just a pity that the geyser dripped constantly during the night...It drove me nuts..."

Stay 1-3 June

"Overall stay OK, but heaters needed in cottages in winter. Wood fires are expensive and tend to make a mess and affect ones eyes and sinuses. 4x4 trails need to be graded as one can easily get into trouble as there is limited cellphone coverage. Balck Eagle walk needs better signage specially at top of first stretch."

"The staff were exceptionally helpful. We could see that the cottages had been recently refurbished and were very happy with our accommodation. The beds were very comfortable and the down duvet wonderfully warm. All in all we were very impressed with the park and would go there again."

Mountain Zebra Park Stay

"Before I start, we are also in the accommodation business, so we are a bit critical.
Very enjoyable stay overall. Bungalow nicely equipped, site well looked after, braai works well, beds and bedding good. Criticism: the cleaning staff take out all the towels everyday and replaces them in spite of the towels hanging over the towel rails indicating re-use. Staff should be informed about the towel re-use rule!
The night run was very good in spite of us not seeing many animals. Did see buffalo though. At least we now know what a spring hate looks like.
Restaurant not so good eg. peri-peri chicken still cold in the middle, fillet steak cut through to make it thinner to cook more easily. Did not think it wise to try the fish or calamari! Maybe more 'home cooked' type of meals should be offered eg. a good lamb stew, ox tail, bobotie and a curry instead of a 'fancy' menu. Service also quite slow, but very friendly.
Upon leaving, the guard at the gate wanted an 'exit permit' which we did not have. He eventually phoned reception to clear us. We were not offered an exit permit in spite of clearing out with reception on the night before and on the morning of leaving.
After all these complaints, we would go back anytime. Thank you for a very enjoyable experience."

Stay Over for Durban Tripsters to CapeTown

"We travelled to Cradock from Durban via Umtata on a Wednesday and found the route a most enjoyable alternative to the conventional route through Bloemfontein. The Family Cottage was spotlessly prepared and had all that we could wish for.The Park was beautiful as we arrived during a rain storm on the one side while there was sunshine on the other..It was Karoo at its best...fabulaous landscape scenery..and then we drove into the area not frequented by buck...and enjoyed fjording the streams which were about 300mm above the culverts...then we had the joy of an absolutely clear view of the Milky-way...after our well prepared steak in the Restaurant. How about some Venison on the main course next time...like at Beaufort National Park where it was fantastic!"

Gotta get back there

"Both the person manning the entrance and Jeannie (?) at reception were well informed and conveyed information on animal whereabouts with clarity and friendliness. Accommodation comfortable although attention needs to be given to ongoing maintenance"

Mountain Zebra National Park

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The booking, reception and maintenance of the park and roads was excellent. The farmhouse at Doornkloof was very comfortable. A shower - preferably outside would make it perfect."
