My stay at Olifants Rest Camp

"I've been to Kruger for several times but didn't see a lion, this time around I saw about 4, in different locations. Thanks to Olifants Rest Camp, if I didn't book there, I wouldn't have been able to see the lions! Nice Bungalows, professional service... will come back again next year February."

Various Camps in Kruger Park

"Accommodation too small and uncomfortable. Way overpriced compared to accommodation outside the Park Gate."

Olifant's camp visit

"The camp accommodation was ok but the restaurant was bad. The food is basic and totally overpriced. There is no effort in making the food look or taste to value for money. The restaurant survive was also not up to standard. I feel a shame that any international/local visitor receive such service. The shops are however very nice and caters for everyone's needs."

Great trip

"Stayed at Olifants, very impressed with how clean everything was and how friendly staff were. Think it's a bit expensive though for what you get - maybe there should be discounts for South Africans..."

Perfect!

"We loved our stay at Olifants Rest Camp. Everything we needed was avaialbe in the Bungalow (except utensils - but I had my own)and in the shop. It was so relaxing to sit outside on the stoep and see the Olifants river and hear the hippos. I will definately stay there again."

"Like always a visit to KNP is great. The service in the restaurants was traditionally not a great experience but lately it has improved dramatically, but the service and food in Satara is exceptionally bad.
Just sitting in the restaurant all you hear is visitor after visitor complaining. The service at the gates is of high standard.
Regards"

Olifants accomodation

"Bungalows are of poor standard especially when considering overseas visitors. They really need urgent and comprehensive upgrading for the price payable."

Happy & Will Be Back!

"Many Thanks for the opportunity of telling you of our recent visit to the Kruger Park. The booking was efficiently done from your side. We stayed at Olifants Camp - haven't been there for years - and found it to be extremely clean and the staff very friendly. The shop had everything one could wish for and was well stocked. On our arrival, we were given chalet No. 62, which, when we arrived there, saw that people had already used the chalet for the day - so not at all happy - as there were cigarette butts in the ashtrays and the bed had been used!!! Before we had time to get back to the office, an official came to us and gave us another chalet - which had a better view of the river - so needless to say, we were much happier with our change. We stayed there for 3 nights - and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The vervet monkeys visited one morning - and as usual, totally destroyed the contents of our neighbours fridge - this should definitely be looked into - even though there is a notice on the front door - these little buggers are so quick. This should be looked into as they are a real nuisance!!

We hope to be back soon."

"As one moves North in the park the Mopani bush limits game viewing from the road. I suggest that in flat areas elevated earth ramps similar to those used by the British police to monitor traffic on highways be installed. A car could drive up and over to view over the bush. No great cost or impact on the ecology would be incurred it install them and they would be immensely popular."

"Neat and tidy, an improvement on ber-en-dal, except for the restaurant, i assume that this has been contracted out. a fatal mistake. Service was poor; food was not available or had run out, a total lack of care by all. There were plenty of foreign visitors in the restaurant and both Jill and I were not proud be south Africans at that stage."

"We had a nice time in Kruger. Olifants was a bit disappointing but Satara was wonderful!

Lower Sabie is a beautiful camp but the service at the restaurant area is non-existant!"
