We all had an amazing holiday. Saw so many animals. Weather perfect! Even the fact that the restaurant was under refurbishment did not spoil our experience in the camp."

"We found the rest camp very nice and the bungalow confortable.

It was great to spot the elephants in the river under the full moon shadow and amazing to have breakfast watching the hippos playing in the water!

Experience to repeat!"

Renovations

"I stayed at Olifants Camp which since childhood has always been a favourite of mine, and I still really enjoyed being there. The only thing i was disappointed in was that I was never told that the restaurant was being renovated - this was sad as I has planned a birthday dinner for my partner."

"It was brilliant. Unfortunately I forgot how long it takes to drive to the camps once inside the park. Our first night was spent in Pretoriouskop because we did not have time to reach Olifants before dark. Your staff very kindly found me a hut for our first night.
The only disappointment was that the TV in Olifants was not working so I could not watch the Rugby match between the Boks and the All Blacks."

"We had a great stay in Olifants. The only thing we did not know was that you had to bring your own cutlery etc... so we had not... luckily we could hire some but it would be good to state at reservation you have to bring or if needed you can hire...."

"While the housekeeping and shop staff are extremely friendly and helpful the same cannot be said for the reception staff. The staff in the reception area are shocking, they remind of the most unabiding, unfriendly, government officials."

Olifant and game drive review

"The camp was nice and in comparison to the Berg-en-dal night drive, this was a totally different experience with 2 very enthusiastic guides (with good senses of humour). We did not see much but we learnt from the little we saw. However, I do not think I will go on another night drive. We see very little and it is uncomfortably cold."

Quiet Camp

"So this camp is a little up North but driving from the South in the morning we had seen 4 out of the big 5 by lunch time.
The camp itself is quiet & some may think out the way but I liked it. Only problem was that the bathroom was very smelly & they were fully booked so we couldn't move, but other than that I wouldn't rule it out just because it's at the North of the park. 10 mins out the gate we saw a Lion, Leopard & Rhino's.... cant beat that!"

A few tips

"1) Knowing beforehand the departure time for the night drive. Our night drive was on the same day as our arrival and it was a bit of a rush.

2) It would be nice to have like a radio station where rangers and visitors can inform the people in the park of where animals like the big 5 have been cited so that everybody can improve their chancers of seeing the big 5.

3) It would also be nice to have a built up area around the braais at the various bungalows to accomodate plates and glasses etc and with a light to make braaing more enjoyable at night.

"The camp is in a immaculate condition,friendly personnel and clean bungalows. No loud music or other noises except for animal sounds. What a view from the deck!
PS. Used tea cups and empty coldrink tins attracted bees and since I am allergic to bees it dampened my visiting the deck more often"

Fist visit at Kruger National Park -

"We have enjoyed our stay at Olifants Rest camp a lot. The bungalow was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The view was fabulous - We will definitely visit again. We were also surprised to have seen a python on the road just after Skukuza camp. We came across lions twice. Unfortunately the wild dog, leopard and cheetah have avoided us this time. But that is one of the reasons why we will visit again to also see these animals in the wild."

Olifants Restcamp

"Here our experience was better than on the previous camps. The location is very good. The cottage was smaller, but very nice. We enjoyed the stay here. The food on the restaurant (it was in construction, good location), awful: a kind of fast food, overpriced for what you get and with little relation to what you order and see ont he menu. Again, not much to choose from. Unfortunately we were part of the few who were not self-catering in the Kruger..."

Great experience

"My trip was a blast.The weather in the Kruger Park was awesome.The hospitality and friendliness of staff is great.Overall great.My only problem was that we booked 2 nights at olifants and we didn't know that they are busy with construction on there main buildings,which made it a bit uncomfortable.But overall ,great!"
