Activities & Facilities
Phinda Mountain Lodge offers an exciting range of safari activities, including morning and evening game drives, in open Land Rovers, sometimes out into the middle of the bush for a safari breakfast, or out to the Mzinene River for a morning boat cruise. These drives are conducted and guided by a team of informative, eager guides, all ready to share their huge knowledge of the area. Having the coastline as near as it is, with the world's most south-lying coral reefs within paddling distance, guests regularly opt for a bout of snorkeling, scuba diving, and fishing out at sea.
Mid-day temperatures have been known to soar, with guests either opting to lounge lazily around the swimming pool, or to head out, on foot, discovering first hand the inhabitants and plant life native to the area. For a more relaxed experience, visits are arranged out bird watching, or even simply to the nearby bird hide, to enjoy the area's huge bird population. With the evening advancing, the group makes a stop for sundowners in the bush.
Additionally, Phinda Mountain Lodge conducts a White Rhino Tracking excursion, conducted by armed rangers and tracker, from the back of a 4x4 safari vehicle. Search out tracks, analyse signs of rhino passage, and learn the secrets of animal tracking at the hands of a group of professionals.
Phinda Mountain lodge is accessible to the disabled, as well as offering baby sitting services, restaurants and pubs, laundry and valet, a safety deposit box, swimming pool, a curio shop, and internet access.
