Monkeys

"It was very nice. Enjoyed the swimming pool alot and the crew is very friendly. But the monkeys are a real problem, they are not scared of the people anymore and nearly bit my two year old daughter because she was in the path he was running (the dustbin) in and then still didn't go away after we chased it. The man next door had to come and help us. I think the biggest reason for this was the dustbins, they are coming after the left over food that is in there. So I would like to suggest to make all the dustbins close to the rondawels/huts/tents of the kind that they will not be able to open if not all in the camp/overnight area."

Best of the lot but

"Best camp of the lot - nicest bungalow, friendly
reception staff but high grass made game viewing very difficult"

KNP January 2011

"After the heavy rainfall of December/January the vegetation is too dense and the grass along the roads too long for any meaningfull game viewing. Great weather and accommodation. Friendly people wherever we went in the Kruger"

My daugther's first visit to the Kruger Park

"We have incredible time in the Park. We were very lucky to get a variety of animals. Our accommodation was good. Unfortunately the untarred roads were closed due to the rain fall in the Park. I am it the process to plan my next trip in the winter months. It is always nice and replacing to be at the Kruger Park. Thanks you! see you in the winter months?"

A good new year

"We saw Sable. We also saw Elephant, Rhino, Hippo, giraffe and impala with their new babies. Amazing sight! Added to that were many wonderful bird sightings. The Sabie river drive was the highlight for us, where we saw brown-headed parrots. On the way back to camp we had an excellent Bateleur eagle sighting, in a tree on the road side - awesome! However just sitting on our patio we saw several interesting birds like the woodland kingfishers and cardinal woodpeckers. A lovely trip. Thank you."

Break away

"Pretoriuskop rest camp is an ideal place for a quick break away. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that needs improvement is the kitchen - some of the stoves are outdated and don't work properly. The camp could also open a bit later to allow people more time if they want to do evening game drives,18h30 is still light and most animals are only coming out around that time."

Quick and easy

"We stayed in a small hut / room with three beds. Although the room looked small, we had enough space and had a lovely stay. I liked the Pretoriuskop restcamp, and will stay there again. I loved the individual braai areas and the well stocked shop.
We had lunch at Satara, a bit disappointing, the game pie was made earlier in the day and re-heated. It left the crust soft and very chewy. Rather the kitchen should prepare it and bake it upon request (or get tips from King Pie).
All in all a great stay, we saw a lot of animals and birds, and all of the big five.
A word on the communial kitchen - as first time visitors we did not know what to expect, please indicate on the website that this actually only translates into a communial hotplate and kitchen sink. No oven, no microwave.
Regards"
