"I last visited Kruger 22 years ago so I really enjoyed my last visit and could have stayed much longer. Despite the rain & flooding I loved every minute and the staff were very friendly and efficient."

"Glad that a few camps like Pretoriuskop have the old simple style hut with a basin and fridge plus shared kitchen and ablutions, which make it affordable. The new chalets are nice but expensive."

"We had a wonderful stay & would definitely like to stay again. A suggestion would be that if it is a family travelling that needs more than 1 unit to accommodate then we should be advised if the units are not nearby to each other. We had to book a 3 sleeper & a 2 sleeper to accommodate a family of 5 & my daughters ended up being some way from where we were based."

Enjoyable

"Our family enjoyed the stay in Pretoriuskop. The family cottage was spacious and well equipped. The nice pool is definitely an added bonus!

I would just appreciate if the staff at reception were a bit more friendly and helpful.

"Huts nice and clean, ablution block could have been cleaner, no toilet paper in the morning, ablution block needs more power points as there were none in the huts.

What really amazed us was that all the rubbish bins in front of the huts, had no lids, thus in the morning and in the evening the monkeys and baboons simply took out food and rubbish out of the bins, some bins were also simply tipped over.

This is a concern as the monkeys really are a problem in the sense that they are not afraid of humans and we could do nothing to chase them away and stopped them from jumping onto the table and taking food."

Good time

"We had a wonderful time even though our stay was nearly spoiled by some visitors who could not mind their business and wanted to dictate to us how we should experience the wild."

"This comment is relevant to Lower Sabie reception where I endeavored to obtain a reservation for 5 January 2012. I dealt with one Dorcas at reception. All I can say is she is not in the least interested in her job and displays an attitude of "I am here for life no matter how appalling my service to the public is". Needless to say I did not get any reservation for 5 January 2012."

Comments for entire stay

"We found the accommodation and staff at each camp extremely willing, polite and friendly. The rooms were clean and fresh. Air cons need some attention tho. the food was not great. Choice limited and quality poor. we had pizza which was tasteless, hamburger which really was shocking, steak, egg and chips...steak could not find it was so small , pies not too bad. Also food very expensive. Definitely needs some attention in this department. Otherwise stay fantastic."

"The fact that their was no facilities like a stove in the chalet and no pots and pans make it difficult. The toilets at the offices(not in the chalets) can be better. Not all was working. Swimming pool one of the best all though not always clean."

"We had a great stay, only one incident when our campsite power box had a problem on Christmas evening. I went to the reception with little hope that anybody will respond to my problem but it was resolved within 20 minutes. Thanks for the staff at Pretoriuskop for their friendly help. The ablutions are cleaned daily but its always wet and dirty. Maybe they could put up a notice to urge every person using the shower to clean up the water after showering. Actually this is a basic hygiene lesson every parent should teach their children."

"Room without own bathroom is not acceptable in future. Camp is fine and pool is a bonus. Did not try the restaurant. Rubbish bins need to be upgraded to keep monkeys out."

Camp needs attention....

"Our stay at Pretoriuskop was ok....the grounds need a lot of work. The gardens is not in good condition, the ablutions were not clean. The dustbins outside the huts need to be replaced, they are not animal proof like the ones in the other camps! The monkeys were running around with plastic bags from the dustbins, some of the dustbins did not even have covers..."
