South African National Parks
South African national parks, such as the Kruger or Tsitsikamma, serve the important function of conserving sectors of natural and cultural heritage as representations of diversity. Under South African National Parks, twenty-one of these parks, or 3,700,000 hectares (37, 000 km²) across eight provinces, or 3% of the total area of South Africa, are managed. Home to well known parks such as the Kruger and Tsitsikamma, SANParks is also one of the foremost conservation and scientific research bodies in the world. The wide range of parks on offer means that guests can choose from a selection of experiences, including savanna, arid semi-desert, coastal, parks with forests and grasslands habitats, often in the same multi-habitat park.
