Travel routes and times from central Gauteng are listed below. Travel by road requires entry through one of Kruger National Park's gates.
By Air:• The closest airport to
Satara is Eastgate Airport that is situated in Hoedspruit. The airport is approximately 68 km from Orpen Gate.
By Road - Orpen Gate:• Head toward Nelspruit on the N4 and take the R540 Belfast turn off.
• At Lydenburg turn left onto the R36 heading north.
• 30 km before Hoedspruit turn right onto the R531 and head to the gate. Allow between 4 to 5 hours for the trip to the gate.
• Satara camp is 48 km away from the gate. Allow about 2 hours for the drive to the camp, however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!

Recommended game drives from this camp:1. Driving south from Satara on the
H1-3, continue past the
S126 and pass the Nyika Pan to the right. Take the next right turn onto the
S125, which passes a baobab and continues along the N’waswitsontso River, before reaching a loop around the dam, close to the
S36. You can take the
S36 right to return to the
H7.
2. Take the
S100, just south of the camp, off the
H1-3. Passing the Nsasane waterhole, take the
S41 right at the T-junction and then take the next right, onto the
H6 just past the
Singita lodges. This will return you to the
H1-3 to Satara, via the Sonop Pan and Shihangani waterholes.
