Satara

"The only problem were the thorns at the camp site (devil thorns). I think that the thorny plants on the ground should be sprayed with herbicide."

Satara Restcamp

"Satara was friendly and professional. The only problem we had was a leaking toilet which was quite irritating. The bungalows were clean and well looked after. We were missing a couple of items such as a bread board and dish rack. We viewed a lot of incredible birdlife."

ACCOMMODATION

"The amount of animals we have seen around Satara was exceptional. It was wonderful to hear the hyenas and lions at night. The only disappointment was Satara's caravan park which lack a huge amount of shade. It will be really nice if some attention can be given to the camping sites. If the caravan park looks better, I am sure that Satara will be one of the most popular camps in the Kruger Park."

I think I have fallen in love

"I had no idea what to expect - but Kruger Park blew my mind. Obviously the animals were the highlight, but my praise spreads to the quality of the camps and the friendliness of the staff. What an experience. I cannot wait to return. Kruger Park is a paradise. Satara Camp is beautiful. The accommodation was exceptional - clean, pretty and practical. Well done."

FEEBACK

"The rondavals were clean but the bottom sheets on the beds were not long enough and this showed the mattress. The fridge needs to have a lock on as in the afternoon the monkeys come round and go into the fridge and cupboards of the chalets and pinch food and drinks. The braai had been repaired but not very good, has it had big holes in the bottom. We saw that some for the chalets had a lapa at the side and patio doors on, these looked very nice and I think it would help if all the chalets were like these. With the fridge on the stoep there is not must room for anything else so with the lapa is make more room for relaxing. The shop was very well stocked and the reception was very efficient. We also stopped at a couple of picnic spots and they were very clean and helpful.

Hope this information helps"

Satara stay March 09

"The decor in the room (A family lodge) is tired. The cloth on the chairs had holes in it.
The restaurant food was awful and the cafe service slow.

I left a jacket in the room which house keeping said they had found. I aksed them to post it to me. Follow up with house keeping has only got a response that nothing was handed in."

Satara Restcamp

"The maintenance of the ablutions and kitchen area and the camp sites was not what they used to be. The shower head in the family shower was broken, the hot water boil in the kitchen was non existant and the overhanging thorn branches on the camp sites were hanging so low you had to dodge them. Being hung up by a buffalo thorn is not funny. Now you may say "big deal" to having no hot water boil in the kitchen, but we know the Park has this facility and because we only have a small car we knew we needent worry about getting hot water for tea / coffee. We do love to go to the Park and will go again. These were just a few things that we felt worthy of mention. Regards Noreen Sykes"

"Die stort het nie koue water gehad nie. Het daaroor gekla, maar die probleem is nie reg gestel nie. Op 'n stadium was daar nie water in die toilet nie. Na die klagte is die probleem reg gestel, maar die toevloei van water was nog steeds nie goed nie."

"We will in future always stay and Satara. It has a
lovely atmosphere and the bird life around the camp is wonderful. Staff are efficient and very
friendly. Shower was a problem not suitable for the elderly. Although we did request this at the time of booking and it was confirmed that shower was equipped to handle disabilities."

Satara Restcamp

"Really enjoyed the people, facilities and friendly reception. It was an excellent experience.
Only downside was inability to book a night drive due to computer issues? Needs fixing.
We saw 12 wild dogs...surrounded the car!
Also watched a Buffalo give birth.
In all game viewing was better than expected, given time of year."

Alan Hynds & mates

"I loved the experiance, one thing I would like to suggest is better training in coustomer service by the staff, the staff lack intest don't smile and move at a snails pace.
The place is great and could improve by getting some staff who want to work there and like their jobs. Would i come back yes and I would recomend the place to others. Thanks for a great experiance"

More motivation please!

"satara camp perfect, clean with friendly staff BUT night game drive disappointing. Very few animals , reason given: too much wind. OK but at least the driver should have given more comments on the few animals seen!! Very little motivation shown, yawned most of the time!!!
Being the group leader of a french party I was not satisfied by the professionalism of the ranger. Sorry to say so!!"

Satara Restcamp

"We gained access to the Park at the Orpen gate, and the staff were efficient and friendly. At Satara we were directed to bungalow E 132 which was occupied. We had to go back to the office and were than allocated bungalow F157. We found that the grounds at some of the circles were unkept, the lawn or grass not cut, with a general sense of neglect. In our bungalow the toilet water kept on running but fortunately Chris could fix the toilet mechanism. The duvets on the beds were faded and also frayed on the edges. We had breakfast at the Restaurant and the placemats were absulutely filthy. The prices for the breakfast is also not value for money. As a South African I would be ashamed for tourists to experience this level of hygiene. The stock holding in the shop is poor. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback. Ellen Dry"
