Satara Restcamp

"Really disappointed to arrive at Satara and find we were not booked in and the money had been taken from our account. Thought the amount of R850.00 per night was excessive. Accommodation was not up to scratch, old sink in the bedroom, no sink in bathroom for toilet. We will not go back to Satara."

Accommodation for the Disabled

"I have one suggestion to make with regards to the accommodation fo a wheelchair user. I had difficulty to park my car so that there was enough space to get out into my chair on level ground. The parking bay should be a bit wider and there should be a paved area from the parking area to the braai and the dustbin. I had grat difficulty negotiating the curb stone from the parking area to the gravel area in front of the Rondavel. The ground is clay and when wet, not only tends to stick to the wheels, but also makes for moving around when braaing, a bit difficult."

Best ever

"We saw three cheetahs together and 18 lions over the week period. Seeing the Honey badger on our way out of the Park was a treat. The camp and the staff was as always friendly and efficient. You will see us next year again."

A Bush experience

"The stay all in all was pleasant the nightmare was the rat on my bed and when asked on reception for help nobody cared about it, and the communal kitchen the stove was pre historic!!!May be a microwave should be available and if electric stove one that worked faster than one that was available.
The food at the restaurant was disgusting but we met the new manager and wished him all the luck because he is going to need it. The coffee shops at picnic spots must improved from last time we stayed at the park. I need information about the parks card and no one could tell me if I could use it at KZN and at Sodwana Bay, may be staff should be more knowledgeable.
Best Regards
Helena"

Great Stay

"Thanks again for a great stay in the Kruger, it was worth the 2000kms from Cape Town. Facilities were well kept, and the staff always friendly. Only complaint would be the bad corrogations on some of the dirt roads surrounding Satara."

Satara Restcamp

"After spending a full day travelling from Crocodile Bridge Gate, it was an absolute pleasure to arrive at Satara and book in hassle-free. The shop was well stocked and clean. Our accommodation was perfect and we had a peaceful evening after a long day in the Park."

Park not for SA citizens.

"The facility, reception, etc was excellent. However, we would like to see more stuff with the relevant camp's name on it, as one can see clearly that they cater for the overseas tourists, as everything is marked either South Africa, or only Kruger Nat Park?"

Perfect!

"We had a great experience at Satara rest camp.
The facility was clean en there was enough space in the cabine.
We also loved the possibility to have a Braai at our own terras.
The staff was friendly and helpful.

One tip: There could be some more lighting alongside the paths in de camp. We have been lost several times in the dark.

There were enough trips we could take and the the camp shop had enough supplies to choose from.

Overall we had a perfect time!
And even better, we saw the big five!

I hope to come back in the future,

Best,
Eiso Bergsma"

"The arrangements was good and in order. The camp was clean, and up to camping standards. The Kruger is definitely one of the best places to camp and spent some quiet time. Thank you"

BEST PLACE FOR SIGHTINGS

"Suggest not to camp in December/January as it was very hot but besides that we saw plenty of animals on the tarred roads around Satara. Saw the big 5 in one day by leaving camp early. The sighting board outside reception was full every day. The area around Satara very open so sightings were easy. Will definately be back"

"Hallo,

I would like to say that the safari in the kruger was great, the only exception is that the veiw points on several places around skukuza, satara, olifants - camp is not of the best prepared, especially the ones located on river beds, the bush thicked and high grass makes it impossible to see animals in the bed. I would suggest to make one or two well renound spots and errect deck which is surrounded with a fence and at the gate a cattle hurdle (like what is at the camp gates) to prevent the wild animals to come in the veiwing spot vacinity.

Myself and my parents had a wonderful time, did some extensive driving, we've seen a pletheren of animals.
Questions: where is al the snakes? Hehe.

Thank you.

Chris."

Invaders in camp

"I would say the overall experience was excellent. The only issue i have is , at the rondavels the dustbins are not secured against invaders like monkeys and honey badgers . Altough there are bins in teh camp areas that are secured against this . it is not fun to have to clean up after these invaders every morning . It is a simple fix ."

Satara Restcamp

"We had previously stayed for two nights in a two bedded bungalow with a mattress for my daughter, moving for one night to this new upgraded three bedded bungalow which made such a wonderful experience.

A bigger room, shower door and bigger fridge made all the difference."
