"Had a great stay. Very pleasant, helpful young lady cleaning the chalets. I told her the aircon wasn't working properly and leaking water badly onto the floor in the room and that the toilet was blocked. She reported it straight away and within an hour or two it was all sorted out. Very impressed."

Very impressed!
"Its been some time since I last stayed in KNP (about 20 years) and I was well impressed with the over all cleanliness and organisation of the camp. Great value for money. All the basic facilities where there (we stayed in a rondawel) and all we needed to do was arrive with our charcoal and food and everything was neat and tidy.
My only criticism would be, although we didn't eat there, the restaurant looked a bit disorganised (no sign of proper management) and the menu probably needs a makeover.
We only stayed one night passing through, but will definitely stay longer next time. Thank you."

"Really impressed that they provided microwave ovens and everything worked. Also loved the extended covered verandah which provided much needed shade from the heat."

Love for nature
"Sorry for my English, I don't speak very well.
Wonderful experience specially the night safari. I hope in the future can use into the park only cars without gasoline (not bad for ambient)
e' stato tutto bellissimo sono innamorata di tutti gli animali anche quelli piccolissimi come le tartarughe, i camaleonti, le farfalle."

Experience
"We had a lovely time and would visit Satara again any time. We also had bats in our room but we were already used to them by now....
The only problem we had at our unit, was that the shower did not work properly and we could not shower at all. It would have been more pleasant if it was working."

Review of Satara
"The bungalow was clean and the reception staff friendly. The grass between the bungalows haven't been watered or cut for ages and were overgrown. Again the camp just looks tired and run down. If you think that you are paying about R1000 per night excluding meals this is not good value for money. Yes one does go for the wild life experience which is the priority but it seems that the Kruger is intent on pricing itself out of the market. I can stay at upmarket 4-5 star Bed and breakfast establishments for the same amount."

"Satara has an abundance of wildlife which is brilliant. We had a few issues with our bungalow but got attended speedily. That camp wants for nothing, the only suggestion i would make is for the upgrade of the bungalows. People will still stay there as the game viewing is excellent. The perimeter views are beautiful."

Satara Restcamp
"Although we once again had a wonderful time, we found some concerning conditions which disturbed an otherwise awesome stay.
These were:
• Internet reservation caused delays at entry and booking in due to reference confusion
• Condition of chalets. There are holes in the gauze on insecure sliding door - making access of mosquitoes impossible to control?
• The unkept state of 'lawn' in central area of chalets?
A little more ship shape will easily attend to above concerns.
Regards,"

"Love the Kruger, the camp was nice. Something need to be done about the ablutions, its always wet inside the showers. But everybody using the shower, toilet or basin needs to clean up (dry up)after using the facility. Maybe some more mops, and towels could be placed on strategic places inside of the ablution so the everybody can help dry up after use. Another big disappointment was the restaurant, the beer was warm, and the food old and below average. But the shop was excellent, the evening shows great and the swimming pool good. Had a nice stay."

"The lodge was clean and well kept. We booked for the Parks's sunset and sunrise drives. The rangers were OK but did not strike us as doing their best to spot the animals!"

Over priced and under delivered
"To whom it may concern;
We booked for 2 adults “Pensioners" and 1 child “4 years old" on arrival there was no bed for her. When we enquired they came and bought a mattress which was thrown on the floor and we were informed where the bedding was but had to make the bed ourselves. We then enquired about cutlery and crockery for her as that was only supplied for 2 people, they then bought us only one dinner plate a cup and a knife and fork no glass no spoon nothing. In the kitchen there was no bowl to make a salad. In the rondawel itself was no plug facility to charge your phone or camera or even to plug in a hair dryer. The renovated bathroom was nice and spacious but no space to put a tooth brush or any toiletries, also no shaving plug in the bathroom and how must a woman dry her hair without a plug? Everything was well maintained but not in comparison with the rates charged.
I hope to hear from you soonest."

Satara is lion country
"The accommodation was good, good pool, the shop was very nice - we love the manager, Stan - helpful guy. We saw lots of lions, which you can do easily from your own vehicle. Don't bother with the safari tours they offer, you'll be put in an overcrowded jeep, make sure you're there early to get a good seat, and if you do the night drive-get your hands on a spotlight, otherwise your dependent on traveler/idiots who don't know to handle the thing and you see nothing-fat chance you see nothing anyway at night-don't bother-stay in your own vehicle-be patient and you see lions - they are there!"

"Really hot day and the ice machine was broken. Headed off to the pool to find it was very dirty. Found lots of clumps of hair in it, and the water was green. Saw lion stalking close by the camp - unfortunately no kill. Didn't enjoy all the thorns around the camp site."

Needs renovating
"Very poorly equipped bungalow for self- catering. No kettle, no toaster, no chopping board, no serving bowls. The very bare basics. But they were very obliging to give us what we need. The first bungalow Aircon not working.
Best place about the camp is the magnificent shop-really good stuff and the restaurant makes good daily special meals-like home cooking."
