Storms River Mouth Restcamp
"The Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve is very beautiful and the infrastructure very good. Bad was the reception when we checked in, unfriendly with a twich of arrogance. Not helpful when we ask some basic question. Accommodation was acceptable but the bathroom with a plastic curtain not up to standard. The restaurant was extremely bad with bad service and unacceptable quality of food. prices are outrageous. Storm's River Fish platter R 370.00! Sole R 110, not fresh, ate only a small piece. Wherever you go in South Africa service and friendliness are top class. Why can't the same standard be achieved in Parks Board facilities."

Storms River Mouth Restcamp
"We had a nice experience, the park staff was very friendly and helpful. We saw about 20 dolphins swimming in front of the oceanette. I was surprised that nowhere any notifications were visible about recycling. So I wonder if the National Parks is considering a policy regarding recycling."

Storms River Camp - a great success
"The Storms River Mouth facilities are tastefully done with considerable comfort and very careful planning. They happily lack the glitz and brashness of much South African accommodation. The linen, pillows and mattresses were of the highest order. The kitchen equipment simple but correct and the unexpected private shower/basin/WC were most functional with plenty of hot water. The wooden structures blend well with the surroundings and had great warmth and charm. Even the curtains were of high quality - simple, well made, lined and in the right style. The site is of course awe-inspiring. The price was generous."

"Although we booked a self catering Forest Hut, we did not feel we got value for money. It was a lot to pay with very few facilities. (No fridge). We will not be using your facilities again in the future."

Camping
"we went to Addo for s day trip- always great, though very windy. Then spent 3 nights camping at Storms River, very pleasant! Only complaint is that we always had large camper vans parked in front of us, so had very little view of the ocean! Maybe there could be some sort of arranging of tents and camper vans so that the bigger vehicles park at the back? Otherwise well worth a visit. Thank you"

Stormsrivier Mouth Visit
"We planned this trip as part of our garden route tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.
What made the rooms exceptional to us was the underfloor heating and the beautiful view of the ocean we had from our Oceanette.
What made the park exceptional to us where again the beautiful scenery we had, the walking trails and just being close to nature.
We will visit the Stormsrivier Mouth Rest Camp again and this time for a longer period as we want to do a couple of activities in the area which the weather did not allow.
Overall I would say we were satisfied and enjoyed our stay.
Regards,
Sue"

Stormy sea view
"We stayed two nights in one of the three honeymoon cottages and enjoyed it very much. The sea view is fantastic, the sunsets are gorgeous.
The suspension bridge over storms river mouth was partially closed, but at the beginning of the walking trail (which was nice anyway:-) was no sign indicating this."

What a great place!
"My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to see that our National Parks are moving forward. We have had previous experiences where places were a bit run down, but Tsitsikamma National Park is in great shape and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We're recommending it to everyone we speak to. Just one negative...We booked and paid in advance with the Cape Town office, and I assumed that when I paid in full for our accommodation that was it. I didn't read through all the stuff on the confirmation that was mailed to me. On arrival at Tsitsikamma we were told of the extra R120 we owe for our stay (conservation fees). I totally understand conservation fees, and did afterwards see that it states on the booking confirmation that there will be these fees. But I think it will be much better to tell us on the phone about these when we make bookings and give us the option to pay everything together, instead of almost "hiding" it in fine print on a booking confirmation. But this didn't ruin our experience, we enjoyed it very much, thank you!"

Forest Huts at Stormsriver Mouth
"Loved staying in the Forest Hut, it was really awesome staying in a "forest" with the ocean just a couple of steps away. Saw lots of "Dassies".
Would really have loved a Microwave in the hut though and possibly a small fridge? Maybe one or two of the small huts could be equipped and you could pay a premium for those with a small fridge and microwave? But otherwise it was really nice, definitely would want to return for a longer stay. I would like to request that the different paths be better marked with markers and that better maps be drawn up so you could see all the different places you could start walks, possibly introduce a paid service of a guide that maybe take people twice a day on certain walks to prevent people from getting lost or mugged. Introduce paths for "disabled" or older and the very young that is easy to walk and a nice distance (1 or 2 km). Many thanks for the fantastic clean main ablutions and communal kitchen area - it was really nice to find it so well kept. Thanks to the ladies servicing the huts, they are extremely friendly and helpful. Thanks also to your main gate reception - very friendly and helpful staff."

Nice place for getaways
"No complaints, nice area, toilets, ablution block well taken care of, friendly and helpful staff. Thanks to park manager "James" for lending me a lamp when mine broke on first night. Great time, will do it again!"

Storms River Mouth Restcamp
"No fault of yours, we arrived around 2 pm Friday, I got so sick with an acute infection that I spent the whole weekend in bed with extremely high fever and suffering.
The place is beautiful and we have been regular visitors over the years. It was meant to be a romantic weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Was a complete disaster. Hope to come again."

Momentum Admin Conference
"Firstly, the weather was perfect and the view from the conference room overlooking the sea was spectacular. The family cottages that we stayed had everything we needed. The service we received from the staff at the rest camp was outstanding, The best part of our conference was the boat ride (which not all ladies were very keen on doing, but with Owen steering , they were geared up to try it a second time) . It was fun and Owen was very friendly and was a great tour guide, as he explained about the caves and their history. We wont hesitate to use the venue again and the ladies, want to visit with their families there as well."

Great experience
"The chalets are great, just need rack space in the bathroom for your toiletries and a mirror in the room to do hair/make up. The rest, fab!"

Awesome Anniversary Account
"We had a super time, celebrating our 21st anniversary. Setting is breathtaking, love the air and sounds. Will definitely be coming back.
Just sad the suspension bridge was out of action. In terms of the oceanette F, the shower doors need fixing and the blinds in the kitchen window have a "hole".
Thank you very much - see you again :-)"

Adequate, but with so much more potential
"Although the lodge was definitely adequate, the surrounding area was wet and muddy and certainly made things uncomfortable. Likewise the food in the restaurant was good, but unfortunately the staff were neither friendly nor efficient. Lastly, construction commenced in front of our lodge on the Monday morning (the day before we were supposed to leave) and was so unpleasant and noisy that we decided to leave a day early. The natural beauty and scenery in the park is without equal, but unfortunately above problems soured what could have been a pleasant stay and will have to be addressed to ensure a better overall experience."

Great Oceanette! Great View
"Amazing view from balcony. Very nice & cozy rooms. Can be added with an air-conditioner, but OK for the winter with just the heated floor. Nice kitchen & cozy bed. Saw some dolphins & whales from balcony!"

Stunning Holiday at Storms River
"I travelled to Storms River with my adult children and we had the most amazing experience. The weather was wonderful, although after the heavy rains walking was a little difficult in places. To be surrounded by such beauty all the time is absolutely incredible, the meals in the restaurant were excellent and the boat trip and other experiences in the surrounding areas (bungy jumping and canopy tours) were something which will remain with us for many, many years. Thank you to all the staff who were at all time exceptionally helpful and friendly."

Tranquility and Nature Unite!
"This is my fourth stay at the camp - twice in the Oceanettes, once in a forest hut & recently in a S-D S/C Chalet - pleasurable experiences in all! The chalet setting was awesome, clean, relatively private & conveniently situated, close to the trails, shop & restaurant. The staff at the Shop & Restaurant were extremely helpful & polite. I shall definitely visit the camp again, possibly preferring a chalet with DSTV for those miserable weather moments! An unsurpassed relaxed environment!"
