Storms River Mouth Restcamp

"It was a pleasant stay, the only suggestion I can make is to put a fan in the room. It becomes very warm and we found it difficult to sleep at night and even in the day.The bottom oceanette on the sides with it's braai area looks good. The top ones, the braai is at the back door and you can't enjoy the sea while you braai. I suggest that they put a weber on each balcony."

"I expected a fully equipped kitchen as was promised and there was not even a bowl to make scramble eggs. Nor anything to whisk it with? Surely then it is not fully equipped. The cottage was clean and neat and comfortable."

We absolutely LOVED it!!!

"We had a lovely time. We were very fortunate in that we were housed in one of the BEST houses with a lovely view and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. We moved to Storms river Mouth camp from Natures Valley where we have a house and we all agreed that the 3 nights in Storms river were the cherry-on-the-cake experience!!!
My sister who lives in Vancouver, Canada will be coming to SA for a holiday at the end of the year and I have already urged them to also book in the camp! We just don’t know how the other chalets look and I was particularly interested in 16 a and b and in Number 17. But I was told that we are not allowed to indicate a preference and that the chalets are allocated by the camp manager 24 hours prior to our arrival. In our case we got absolutely the BEST accommodation that Storms river can offer!
Thank you for asking!
Helene Louw"

What a beautiful place !

"We spent 3 days at Storms River . What a wonderful experience. This piece of the coastline is ruggedly beautiful. We were very lucky to have splendid weather so not only enjoyed the scenery but were able snorkle in the sea and do some lovely walks. The accommodation was simple but spotlessly clean . Amenities such as communal kitchen and laundry were great the camp as a whole extremely well kept. Would recommend any day !"

"we love Storms River and this was our second visit to the campsite. But this time we were given Campsite number 58 - which is probably the worst site with no view except construction vehicles likes tractors in front of our caravan door! But there were many other sites available which apparently people were gonna move onto but remained vacant throughout our stay at Storms. So next time I will not except the site unless I see where it is first!
We saw an Otter during our stay in DEC. Please add Otter to your list on the right. Thanks. Vernon"

"Enjoyed the stay very much. Everything clean and neat. The staff very friendly.

It is a pity we cannot use our own canoe going up the river."

A piece of heaven on earth

"Overall the experience was fantastic. We found the facilities and friendliness of the staff stunning - especially in the convenience store! They deserve praise and recognition! One area that could be addressed is the staff responsible for the servicing of the unit - whilst we did not leave them dishes we felt that they did very little towards cleaning of the bathroom and the unit in general. Otherwise everything was great and we would definitely recommend this to our friends and family! THANK YOU"

Far above average.

"This is a well run, well maintained, clean site. Even the restaurant is above average for this type of place. This was our third visit (in many years)and the standards have improved over the years."

Storms River Mouth Rest Camp

"The most beautiful place I have seen in a long time. The accommodation was clean and great value for money. The camp is very clean and the scenery was beautiful. The restaurant's food was very good and the prices were very reasonable. At least they catered for the SA citizens and not only for the foreign visitors as most of the holiday resorts do."

Great stay

"We stayed overnight in one of the chalets with a great view of the sea and the dassies. A bushbuck came to visit - it stood right outside the kitchen window. I forgot to tell them that the bungalow we stayed in had water coming through the carpet in the living room. I really recommend the camp. It's close by other attractions such as the Suspension Bridge. Unfortunately some are on the other side of the toll station - such as the Waterfall Zipline Adventure."

"Our first visit to Storms River Mouth Rest Camp.

Positives:
Chalets were clean and neat,
Lovely views of the ocean,
Enjoyed boat cruise and sight seeing.

Negatives:
Overlooked the caravans, campers, not the best spot,Baboons a huge problem, entered neigbour's chalet and trashed the place twice, kept coming back to try and enter our chalets, baboons managed to force open closed windows. We had to keep everything closed at all times and be on alert, not ideal."

What about that sleeper couch?

"Our booking was fine, but when we arrived at 18:15 at the gate, your reservation office was already closed, although you website states the time of closing as 18:30 from November onwards. When we arrived at our oceanette, there was no sleeper couch, so the night duty manager had to be called. Fortunately there was an empty two-bedroom family house available which he very kindly allocated to us. The next morning we went to the office to pay our fees, but the person on duty forgot to give us yellow passes and we did not know that we had to have them, so that we had quite a lot of trouble getting into the camp after having left the camp during the day. The staff were friendly and the house was clean.
Thanks"

A place of natural wonder, to be seen to be believed.

"Scenery of sea, mountains and lodges, spectacular,
exceptionally well maintained. The gate welcome was outstanding. One night stay is not sufficient to see everything."

Stormsriver

"Magnificent setting and a great place to visit. Some small issues are that the quality of the dish washing soap is poor and one struggles to wash dishes properly. Also, over the weekend it seems that visitors with little interest in nature visit the park and prefer to be noisy and intoxicated rather than considerate of others."

"In the past my wife and I have either stayed in the caravan section or the cottages but on this visit the only available fixed accommodation was the Forest Huts. We found them to be very well equipped, comfortable, good value and catered for all our needs. In the future we will definitely consider using this facility."
