Shamwari - As seen on TV show A Wild Life
What was once a 1200 hectare family retreat in the Eastern Cape has now become 94 000 hectares spread across three Private Game Reserves in three different South African provinces, and a 6000 hectare Kruger concession. The Shamwari Group was brought to life all because one man, Adrian Gardiner, realised the need to bring ecological diversity back to the area of the Eastern Cape. In order to do this he combined conservation and tourism, with the first Shamwari Luxury lodge, Long Lee Manor, opening in 1992.
Two incredible themed 5-star luxury lodges are found within the Kruger Park, on a private 6000 hectare concession.
The Shamwari Explorer camping experience adds another dimension to the way visitors can explore the Shamwari Game Reserve and Sanbona. Guests sleep in tents, in an unfenced campsite, and go on daily four-hour trail walks within these reserves. This is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for guests to truly get up-close and personal with nature.
